Diabetes is a
debilitating disease which affects 246 million
people worldwide. It has reached epidemic
proportions. Many believe this is due to the fact
that we now have an abundance of food, a lot of
which is high in calories but low in nutrition.
Combine this with a decrease in the amount of
physical activity and you have the perfect storm
for an epidemic of diabetes.
The growing field of complementary health reveals
that people are looking for ways to improve their
helath without the use of pharmaceuticals. One
such device is the far-infrared sauna. There is
evidence to suggest that far infrared sauna use
improves the quality of life of people with
chronic pain, chronic fatigue syndrome and
depression. There is also fair evidence to support
the role of far infrared saunas in treating
congestive heart failure.
Many of these studies were conducted by similar
research group and the subjects were hospital
patients.
The results of the study found that there were
significant changes in quality of life. Levels of
stress and fatigue improved. General health and
social functioning also improved.
Conclusions:
The results of the study suggests that far
infrared saunas improve the quality of life in
people with type II diabetes. The combination of
favorable compliance and adherence as well as
effectiveness in improving the quality of life
makes infrared sauna therapy and attractive
complementary option in the treatment of type II
diabetes.
The Relax Far Infrared Sauna
A Testimonial from a Relax Far Infrared Sauna User
Heavy Metals toxicity no longer
there - Hands and Feet Feel Warmer ... Dec. 2009
“I got a handful of information from Phil at
Momentum98 regarding the “Relax Sauna” at a local
Body, Mind, and Spirit Expo. I spent the evening reading all the
testimonials and facts regarding the unit. I
was highly impressed! My personal challenges included Heavy Metal Toxicity, Diabetes, and
circulatory issues. I had gained the
nickname “Toxic Man” from one of my healers after many decades of chemical
exposure from being in the automotive
industry. After reading the material, the “Relax Sauna” seemed to be the answer I
was looking for and with many other benefits to
boot!
I’ve been using it now on a regular basis for
over a year. My heavy metal levels have been
dropping and my last test for mercury came out in a normal range.
Using the Sauna has helped speeding up the wound
healing process and improved my circulation as
I’ve noticed my hands and feet are warmer in the
wintertime. Plus, getting into the Sauna
during the winter months, it just feels so good, like a day
at the beach! What I most enjoy about the
“Relax Sauna” is the convenience of having it in the house as opposed to traveling
to the local club and I know how clean I keep my
sauna! The “Relax Sauna” has been the BEST investment I’ve made for
my health and I look forward to many years of
faithful service from it as I improve my health! I highly
recommend it to everyone who is faced with any
health challenge!”

Far
infrared can help reduce diabetic sores
Far infrared rays have been shown to inhibit
bacterial growth. This can help prevent
infection.
The sister product to the Relax Far Infrared Sauna is a medical lamp called the Sky Eye. The
Sky Eye was succefully used to reduce the size
of a diabetic sore from a huge 3" by 4" sore,
down to the size of a pencil point.

Study
finds that far infrared sauna use can lower
blood pressure and decrease waist
circumference
ABSTRACT
OBJECTIVE
Far-infrared saunas are beneficial for the
treatment of congestive heart failure,
hypertension and obesity. As such, they may
have a beneficial effect on cardiovascular
(CV) health in those with type 2 diabetes.
Our objective is to examine whether or not
there are quantitative CV benefits from
infrared sauna use.
METHODS
The intervention consisted of 20-minute,
three times a week, infrared sauna sessions,
over a period of 3 months. The
following risk factors were measured:
weight, height, waist circumference, blood
pressure (BPtru), glycated hemoglobin (A1C),
fasting blood glucose and cholesterol
profile. Baseline study parameters were
measured within one week prior to commencing
sauna sessions. Post-intervention
measurements were collected between 1 and 3
days after the last sauna session.
RESULTS
Systolic blood pressure decreased by 6.4 mm
Hg (124±12 vs. 118±15 mm Hg, 95% CI
0.01-12.71 p=0.05), and there was a trend
toward decreased waist circumference
(115.0±13.4 vs. 112.7±11.9 cm, 95% CI
0.4-5.1 p=0.10). All other measurements did
not change significantly. There were no
adverse events. Study completion rate was
75%.
CONCLUSION
Our results suggest that infrared sauna use
may be beneficial for lowering blood
pressure and waist circumference. Subject
adherence to infrared sauna use is greater
than adherence to other lifestyle
interventions. The combination of favourable
compliance/adherence, as well as
effectiveness in improving blood pressure
and possibly waist circumference, makes
infrared sauna therapy an attractive
lifestyle option.
Report shows Far Infrared can
reduce oxidative stress in diabetes
patients
Oxidative stress can lead to circulation
problems. This is one of the factors which
cause the need for amputations in
people with diabetes.
In this
study people in the hospital with Type
II diabetes were given 15 minute
infrared treatments to their legs for 2
weeks. The levels of oxidative factors
in their blood were at decreased levels
after 2 weeks.
The study concluded that infrared
treatments can help protect against
oxidative stress.
Another study which you can view here found that
oxidative stress leads to complications
in people with diabetes.
Yet another study
found that far infrared treatments can
improve bloodflow to limbs in diabetic
mice.
A common factor contributing to
organ damage in type 2 diabetes
mellitus (T2DM) is impaired tissue
blood flow caused by damage to
vascular endothelial cells (VECs).
Damage can occur even before the
clinical diagnosis of diabetes. It
can be caused by both a high average
blood glucose concentration and/or
large daily spikes in blood glucose.
While much of the present literature
focuses on the damage to VECs and
organs from these large glucose
excursions, this review will focus
on the consequence of this damage,
that is, how endothelial cell damage
in diabetes affects normal daily
activities (e.g., exercise, reaction
to typical stimuli)
and various treatment modalities
(e.g.. contrast baths and electrical
stimulation therapy).
It is important to understand the
effects of VEC damage such as poor
skin blood flow, compromised
thermoregulation, and altered
response to skin pressure in
designing diabetes technologies as
simple as heating pads and as
complex as continuous glucose
monitors. At the simplest level,
people with diabetes have poor
circulation to the skin and other
organs.
In the skin, even the blood flow
response to locally applied
pressure, such as during standing,
is different than for people who do
not have T2DM. Simple weight bearing
on the foot can occlude the skin
circulation. This makes the skin
more susceptible to damage. In
addition, endothelial damage has
far-reaching effects on the whole
body during normal activities of
daily living, including an impaired
response to local heat, such as hot
packs and contrast baths, and higher
body temperatures during whole body
heating due to impaired blood flow
and a reduced ability to sweat.
Finally, because of multiple organ
damage, people with T2DM have poor
balance and gait and impaired
exercise performance.
Summary;
In summary, when developing
new technologies where the skin and
skin circulation are important for
the proper function of new glucose
monitoring and injection systems,
the effects of impaired VEC function
on poor skin blood flow, altered
healing, and response to pressure
must be taken into consideration.
Poor blood flow may impair the
accurate measurement of blood
glucose as well as reduce absorption
of infused insulin. Impaired healing
at the injection or monitoring site
can reduce the time an indwelling
injection port can be left in place
even if the newer technologies allow
for better technical stability of
the sensors.
